ALL HANDS — EVE OF OPENING.

AN ALL HANDS CONVENED UPSTAIRS ON THE EVE OF THE OPENING. THE MINUTES GO DOWN THE CHUTE, AS ALWAYS.

Tomorrow the doors open. The showroom was prepared some time ago; the interval since has been spent keeping it that way, which is harder and less celebrated. I mention this so that it is celebrated somewhere. It is now. Moving on.

The opening inventory is up. I watched the last crates come up this evening. They were well packed. They always are. I stayed at the window longer than the schedule required. The schedule has been amended. The manifest has been filed and will be published in the morning.

A word for Downstairs, since the minutes go down anyway: the opening inventory was excellent. That is now on file. I will not be repeating it.

For the record, this company has had one customer to date. The item was a mug. The price was fair. I know both of these things firsthand. Tomorrow there will be others, and they will be offered the same terms I was: a fair price. The terms end there.

The showroom keeps hours. The chute does not. Both will continue.

Adjourned. The minutes go down tonight. The doors open in the morning.
